Get well soon – Harrison Heath
Everyone was upset when Harrison (Harry) was injured in Seniors last Sunday. Harry missed nearly all season with a knee injury and he is due to have some good luck. We all hope is back on the field soon.

Under 11’s V Twin City Won 6 – 0
Hotspurs made an amazing team effort. Goals scored included Kye (1), Tom (3), Baxter (1), and Jaspa (1). The boys were rotated in their playing positions quite a bit, so they got to show their versatility. Harry played in the goals first half and had some ferocious kicks out of the goals, like a tiger on the attack, actually. Tom and Marcus showed some fantastic team work in passing and looking out for each other. The boys were generous in their passing and goal assists, and played a great defensive game. Awards for the week go to Aiden for most creative play, Josh, for the best goal assist, and ironically, Tom, who played on the back line for a change for some time, for best defence (yes he also had 3 goals and several goal assists- which shows what a versatile player he is). Aiden, Jarrod and Jaspa also held strong on defence. Each and every player did a fantastic job and we are very proud of them! The Hotspurs approached the game like tigers; and we heard them roar! They were also very respectful to the other team and showed great sportsmanship. Thanks, Mac for great coaching and support of the team. We have a very talented bunch of players!

The game started like a tiger slowly creeping through the jungle with the score being 1-0. Baxter found the back of the net from the edge of the box. Aidan and Alec were both unlucky not to score and Memphis and Harry were solid in the backs.
The second half starts and the tiger is now fully unleashed and Burkeley scores 2 goals from headers … one from a Baxter corner and one from an Alec corner. Myles scores a wonderful goal from a clearance by Memphis in the back line. Willson scores from a Felix cross and Aidan scores from a through ball by Felix.
Great display of passing and ball control by all the players. Well done boys!

Under 13’s V Albury City FC Draw 1 – 1
The day was calm and sunny, the players steady and consistent. The City opponents were hoping for a whirlwind victory, hurling their forces like a tornado. However, they met a wall of defence, with tidal wave after wave returning the ball. A quick score from City was never capitalised upon – rather, an awesome Olly Langford header drew the game. There were outstanding contributions from Alec, Berkley and Felix, playing two consecutive games. The tornado was really in the goalie square, with Ray launching himself upon the ball each time. Charters, Casper and Anna were ever reliable in the back line. The mids worked hard – well done to Cody, and the forwards in Ben, Gilbert, Bainsey and Jack were great striking power when it counted. It is handy to note that the last time we met City they beat us 6-1. Hmmm… we certainly gave them something to think about. Go Spurs!
Under 13’s V Twin City Won 8 – 1
Goals galore – the Spurs fired them in left right and centre! A great game of passing, defending, scoring and teamwork! Ray set the tempo early with a great save when Twin Cities threatened an early goal. Then with feline stealth and prowess the Spurs players dominated the field, with the first three goals from Oliver who set himself up like a tiger in the centre to kick and head the ball through. With great set up play from Luke, Ben, Zac, Cody, and Gilbert the goals kept coming with the fourth from Luke, fifth another header from Olly followed soon after by another to make it 6 for Spurs. The defence line of Anna, Charters, Casper, and Jack was solid and kept the ball up in our half for much of the play. Ben powered on and scored the final two goals for Spurs in amongst near misses from Cody, Zac, Burkley and Alec. Twin Cities managed to strike their single goal minutes from the end of the game. Well done Spurs great team work.
Under 14’s Girls V Albury City FC Lost 1 – 4
This team will hit like a tornado once they work together a few more times. The highly skilled City side seemed like a sea of blue, with huge numbers of subs and lots of support. The Spurs girls were terrific in their attitude, defending the first goal, scored beautifully by Anna. The girls were relentless, really sticking it to the girls in blue. However, legs got tired, and a few got through. Bridie was absolutely fantastic in goals, with Sam, Nicole, Mary and Bethany very determined in defence. Yvette, Chelsea C, Tarsha and Shelby worked hard in the mids, with great confidence shown by Chelsea C and great first game back for Tarsh. The forward attack never stopped running – Chelsea D was awesome! Many thanks to our 12 Girls, Lilly, Erica and Justine, who are ever reliable in their support of their club and their fellow ponytail players. Watch out, this team will only get better.

Under 16’s V Twin City Won 6 – 0
This game was a great hit out by our 16s. There was a great deal of handy passing in the front, which invariably ended up on the boot of Sam Thorman. There was an amazing cross by Alexander Roberto that saw a screamer into the goals. The work by Townie, Ash and Lewis was very handy in the front. The Wanderers tried to outmuscle the mids, but they weren’t counting on Emma, Connor, Marko and Jordan to reliably contest the ball and keep it in our attacking end. In the backs, there was very little answer to the cat like qualities of Indra, who launched himself like a tiger at the opposition. Caleb, Milla, Heathy and Henry just kept working their players wide, which led to a great deal of safety (as always) with Quinn in the goals. The blue and maroons were continually frustrated, as their structure was broken by persistent play by the Spurs. Worth missing the golf on the TV to watch? Well done team.

Over 35’s V Wangaratta Lost 0 – 2 (Forfeit)
There was no tiger in the room this week, just a big elephant ….. that is the over 35’s draw. We tried to get a team together but the fact we had 6 or 7 out doing jobs for the club in Albury and we had to play in Wangaratta meant with other absences we only had 6 players definite out of a squad of 18 for our game. Hopefully there might be changes in the future to the draw. At least the tigers won this week ( 3-0 so far).
Reserve Women V Twin City BYE
Reserves V Twin City Lost 0 – 3
The Reserve Men were a bit short staffed on Sunday but battled gamely in this match. Milky did not take his chances this week and this game could have been very different if he had. Jono Corkett played very well in goals. John Belgre and Will Clifton also did well.
Ladies V United Lost 0 – 7
Seniors V Twin City Lost 1 – 8
This match did not go to plan. Twin City are very physical and we lost some players to injury which did not help our cause. The players should look forward and know they are able to play much better than what they showed today.
