Match reports
Under 11’s V St Pats
Under 12’s V St Pats Won 7 – 1
The game started out with some disorganisation in the back line as some of the regular players away so subsequently Scott was called into action early in the game and he did not let us down. The first goal came off the boot of Aiden from a Connor through ball. Alec passed to Tom C for the second goal. A Tom B throw-in to Tom C who passed the ball to Alec who scored the next goal. Tom C scored the next from an Alec cross. Tom C scored the next from some great passing in the midfield. St Pats scored a lucky goal by chipping Scott. This made our boys all the more determined and the next was scored from a Baxter corner. The last was scored by a determined effort from Connor. All the boys played well with lots of communication and passing. Memphis and Harry played well with Manny in the backs while Tim, Tom, Tom and Baxter played well in the midfield and covering and backing up when needed.
Coaches’ award: Scott
Under 12’s Girls V Melrose FC Won 8 – 0
What a beautiful day at Melrose park!! With a few girls away the girls took to the field with great energy and enthusiasm. The girls passed the ball around well and scored some beautiful goals with Halle(3), Lilly(1), Ava(2) and Evie(2). Bella and Lilly were strong in the middle and did not stop running. The defence were awesome and reliable everytime with Laura, Erica and Bella G clearing the ball everytime. Ava and Evie both had great games for their first run in the Under 12s, Well Done girls. Sarsha and Justine both did an awesome job in goals and managed to keep a clean sheet. A great team effort from all the girls!!
Under 13’s V St Pats Won 7 – 0
The team got going well with some good passing which led to an early goal. The Spurs proceeded to spend large periods of time in the opposition half. Occasional breaks by St Pats were stopped by some good defence or sent back to the half way mark by Ray’s boot. There were some near misses but also three more goals. At half time coach John reminded the team to keep up the work rate, focus and the communication. The second half resulted in some periods of good teamwork and three more goals were put away. Well done Spurs.

Where we the masters or the birdies? The latter this week, but we showed improvement and with 15 players ( 14 after Ian went to hospital) we had an on par competitive game against one of the form teams of the comp. The game began with furious drives down the fairway from both sides and while we should probably used the rough a bit more, it was an unfortunate bit of rough play that gave them a penalty on half time. After drinks at the club house the second half was much of the same though we did use the width a bit better. Staying off our man resulted in a second goal before we got one back with a penalty. Pressure putts were on but a lapse in defense on a corner gave them a third. Glad to hear you’re OK Ian with only a few stitches and we’ll try to get a hole in one for you next game. No training this Thursday due to Anzac day.
Reserve Women V St Pats Lost 0 – 2 (Forfeit)
