Under 12’s V Myrtleford Won 6 – 1
Under 12’s Girls V Diamonds Lost 1 – 5
A great start from the girls to score the first goal. The girls all played well and are showing improvement every week. The other side was very big and strong, but we were able to run around them!! The girls created plenty of chances but on a wet pitch was very hard to finish them. Bella, Sarsha, Lilly and Maggie all held the centre of the park well and saw plenty of the ball. Our defence were good with Laura, Ciara, Erica, Mia and Ava all defending well. Upfront Imogen, Halle, Evie and Justine all played well in their positions, and every week Alesha shows great courage to play goalie and pulled off some awesome saves!! Keep up the great work girls, your games are full of excitement!!!
Under 13’s V Myrtleford Lost 0 – 6
Under 13 boys were defeated by Myrtleford Savoys 6-0. The boys played well, but the savoys where just to quick. Ray produced some great saves in goals and the back line showed strength in the 2nd half. Forwards had there chance’s against a strong back line but no luck. Time to regroup, get their confidence back up and beat them next time. Chris Harding.
Under 14’s Girls V Myrtleford Won 3 – 2
Under 16’s V Myrtleford Lost 0 – 4
Under 17’s Girls V Myrtleford Lost 1 – 6
Third’s V Myrtleford Lost 1 – 3
Over 35’s V Wodonga Heart Won 9 – 0
We couldn’t use Beckham last report because we did not have a game and so we semi-retired players were a bit disappointed. However at our age, we are very good at reunions and there is a big one coming for our club this weekend. How does this relate to our game, well ….. there was a reunion of skills and talking for this game and we took advantage of it to score a good win and earn the libations we will be having at the reunion. Players played their positions as well as our touch and talk helped control the game. We get to play them again at night this Wednesday so let’s hope this effort continues in the cold.
Reserve Women V Myrtleford BYE
Reserves V Myrtleford Won 5 – 0
It was the best win of the season so far. The Ressies recorded their second win in a row on one of the toughest road trips in the league. Leading 1-0 at halftime thanks to a Ryen Nixon free kick, the floodgates opened in the second half with 4 second half goals with Mark Belgre (2), Michael Wright and Max Humphries on the score sheet.
Ladies V Boomers FC Lost 0 – 11
Seniors V Myrtleford Lost 2 – 3
It’s was always going to be a challenge but the Seniors put up an amazing fight against the League frontrunners and were unlucky not to earn at least a draw. We took a 2-0 lead early in the second half thanks to Ben Porta and a penalty from Robert Tuksar. After Porta went off with injury the game began to change with Myrtleford scoring 3 goals in the space of 15 mins and managed to hold on for the win. Ryan Giles was outstanding in the midfield and his efforts almost got us home.
