All game reports to go in the newsletter need to be sent each week to wrights@dragnet.com.au before 10pm on the Monday after the game so they can be collated. The newsletter is emailed out each week. The report does not have to be done by the manager or coach so you can share the responsibility between the parents and/or players. If you miss the deadline I’ll carry the article into the following week but please try to meet the deadline. You can see past reports on the Hotspurs website.

Match reports
Under 12’s V Albury City Lost 1 – 4
After finishing 3rd in the Championship this year our U12’s were knocked out of the Cup by the 2nd placed team Albury City.
The 1st placed team and undefeated 2014 Champions Diamonds will now play Albury City in the Cup Final next Sunday. The score was 4-1 with Kye scoring our last goal for the season.
All of our players had good seasons and can be congratulated on their team work and ongoing displays of good sportsmanship. Several players had outstanding seasons including Marcus at left back, Wendell at attacking mid, Josh at right wing, Sarsha in defence, Kye up forward and both Will and Zach our U11 superstar GK’s.
Other players like Riley at right back and Jaspa at defensive mid showed consistent form in their best positions and grew in confidence over the last few games of the season. Scott, Naresh and Tyrese together with Toby and Sammi from the U11’s and of course our two captains Connor and Harry made up our squad of 16 and all made valuable weekly contributions to the team.
CJ left mid season however he is a very good player and played some outstanding football for Hotspurs while he was here and we missed his striking ability and finishing. Sarsha’s U12’s girls team won their semi-final on Sunday against the previously undefeated Albury United and now play in a Cup Final this Sunday.
Go Girls and well done to Sarsha.
Josh’s brother Ben also won their U14’s semi-final and everyone wishes them good luck on the weekend.
Go Hotspurs.
And one last big thank you to Coach Roy, assistant Joel and Team Manager Diahann for volunteering their time.
Under 12’s Girls V Albury United Won 1 – 0
Wow what a game from the under 12 girls!! They have come so far this season and are playing so well together as a team. The defence were all solid with Alesha having a great game in goals, Yasmin and Laura lead the defence and Yasmin pulled off the winning safe in the last minute…..Bella Godfrey was solid and marked their best player out of the game. Steph and Ava were great out wide and pushed hard all game. We look forward to next week no matter the result, We are all proud of you girls, the future of our club!!
Go spurs!!
Under 14’s V Myrtleford Won 1-1 ( 4-2)
The 14’s worked very hard and it all paid off. They were fast, passed well and persevered. The first goal of the day went to Myrtleford. Then Cody gave us one with only a little help from the blue boys. The tension increased dramatically and rough play ensued. However the Spurs didn’t lower their standards by reacting in kind. We were one all and then Extra time! John’s talk about pressure and composure worked and no goals resulted. Ray made a great save. Excitement mounted as penalty shoot out approached.
- First goal to Zac!
- Ray saved!
- Second goal to Mitch!
- M.goal
- Third goal to Luke!
- M.goal
- Fourth goal to Oliver!
Well Done to everyone-Great team effort!!!
