Under 9 Gold V St Pats
A spirited game played 9v9 against St Pats, with no Hotspur substitutes. The team ran their hearts out (and legs off) for the full 40 mins.
With Snowy and Bella in goal not much was able to get past them with some great saves and some clever clearance kicking and throwing. Both keepers were ably supported by Louis, Harley , Jeremy and Tyreece in the defence/ midfield role. This kept the opposition in check and on their toes with some quick counter attacking in support of the forwards. Strike force was provided by Tahlia, Alex and Peter who were able to put pressure on the St Pats defence on numerous occasions and help defend when needed. Wendy’s player of the match went to new squad mate Bella for bravery in goal and some spectacular saves. .. and the coaches favourite move was watching Harley cleaving through half the St Pats team like a barbarian with a great display of ball keeping skills. Looking forward to next weeks game. Coach Shaun

It started of a cold frosty morning, but as soon as the spurs hit the ground it soon heated up.
The team played well, we started very bunched but as soon as we used our wings it all started to open up.
Dawson beautiful dribble to goals gave us are first goal. Then a cracker from Ava scores another just before half time.
The team hit the field like a group of barbarians hungry for that ball. Boomers got a penalty in the box but our incredible goalie Ian saved the shot keeping boomers scoreless. Defence were strong and great passes were performed in the back line.
Ace venture (Cody) scored our third and last goal to make it a 3-nil win.
Great game hotspurs keep up the great team work

With the frost gone by kick off the day was set to be magnificent. And it was for the Spurs! The team started strong and did not falter with great passing and team play all day. Early in the first half Will in goals had a nasty kick to the shins and swapped with Christian who kept up the good work. By half time the Spurs were up 3 nil with one goal to Josh and two to Connor, helped out by some great throw ins from Yasmin and excellent mid and front field work from Toby, Riley, the Harry’s, James, the Will’s, Jack and Leo. It was a game not for the barbarians but for sophisticated and unselfish team play in particular from Leo and Bella who helped set up more goals in the second half. The formidable defence of Will, Sarsha, Laura, Bella, Yas and Connor in goals for the second half was supported by great forward play resulting in another goal from Josh and one from Harry to round off a nice clean sheet for the U13 dynamos. Well done team – great play!
Under 14s V Boomers FC Won 7 – 1
Boomers scored the first goal a few minutes into the first half. Spurs came back very quickly with a great pass from Felix to Denzel and Denzel snapping the first goal. Baget played an awesome game at left mid, having a lot of touches of the ball and covering his position very well. Bryce was great at right mid, carrying the ball down the line on numerous occasions. Manny was amazing in defence so strong and giving the team great back up and turning the ball over so many times. Harry also played awesome in defence, stopping would could have been goals for Boomers. The under 13’s that played up did a great job, Leo, Jack, Connor and Will. A big thank you also to Bella and Sarsha who both played very well and stood very strong. Everyone played well as a team and Spurs came out on top 7/1, Connor 2, Leo 2, Denzel 1, Felix 1, Bryce 1.

A good game from both teams on the field who displayed teamwork and sportsmanship. A huge thankyou to the senior ladies who backed it up and helped us field a team this week with many of the team unavailable, we really appreciate it and couldn’t do it without you!! Good games were had by all but especially Claire who created many chances on the wing and to Alex who finished some very nice goals. Goals were to Alex x3, Jess A and Jess B. Our defence was also solid. Huge Thankyou to Dee for running the line for us-much appreciated!! Well done girls!

The final result of this game did not reflect how close the game was for most of the afternoon. The Ressies fought hard to get back in the match at
1-2 just after halftime but simple errors gave our opponents the edge and a win. Ranga and Caleb were very good in defence while Irish and Will played well in the middle of the park.
Ladies V Boomers FC Lost 0 – 6
Seniors V Boomers FC Lost 2 – 5
The seniors were very competitive against the top team and found themselves in front 2-1 at the half. Unfortunately we did not maintain the pressure and let our opponents grab some early goals in the second half and the game got away from Spurs. There were some good signs on Sunday with Eggy and Jon Cochrane playing strong games. Indra was good up front and Mick Corkett played a solid game. Goals were scored by Eggy and “Junior” Poudel.
