Match reports
U11s v TCW won 7 – 0
A comfortable victory in the end although we only were 2-up at half-time. We dropped our intensity from previous weeks and allowed our opponents too much space and time on the ball. This was addressed at half-time and the team responded with a more determined attitude. We continually created scoring chances and if not for hitting the upright twice and about six shots directed straight at their keeper, we could of had a much better goal difference.
The whole team finished strongly and played well. Ian did not have much to do in goals but when called upon made two fantastic one-on-one saves.
Goals: Tomoki 4, Ava, Dawson and Jay.
Sodens award: Tomoki
McDonald’s award: Jay
Wendy’s award: Brodie and Ava
Under 12s V Twin City Lost 0 – 3
Under 12s Girls V United Won 6 – 2
A much better game from the mighty Under 12 girls, who passed the ball around well. It was great to have girls back this week as we have struggled over the last few games to field a side. Ava and Ciara were strong all game and Ava scored some very nice goals. Mattea and Scarlett played well in the midfield with Paige and Alyssa played well upfront. Special mention to Daisy who scored her first goal in the Under 12 girls going around the goal keeper. A great team effort, lets hope we can continue as we play United again this weekend at home.
Awards to: Mattea, Lucy, Ava, Daisy and Bella G for goal keeping in the second half so Lil could have a run!!
Under 13s V Twin City Lost 0 – 4
Hotspurs worked hard first half with no goals either side. Second half with unfortunate injuries we had a 0 – 4 defeat. Well done to all players!
Under 14s V Twin City Won 3 – 1
We started the game off to a satisfactory start and were lucky to get the first goal (Bryce Anderson) but Twin City had other plans scoring within 10 minutes after. Later on in that half Hotspurs lifted their game to a new level with a perfectly executed play which ended in a goal (Felix Baker) which put us 2-1 up at the break. Upon half time the Hotspurs boys and girls switched into action keeping the opposition’s very, very fast attack at bay. We had some major attacking plays but none left us with any goals. But with a trip up of Denzel left us with a free kick about 30 yards out from their goal and on the side line. The whole team was waiting for a free kick to bounce off one of their many heads in the goal box. Instead Felix accomplished a gutsy and risky goal that just flew right over the goal-keepers head and into the back of the net. The final score was 3-1 to Hotspurs with the well deserved award going to our captain of the day Felix Baker.

Ladies V Twin City Won 3 – 1
Congratulations to the senior ladies on their first win of the season this week!!! Our first goal came from Millie with a left foot kick from the base line to make the score 1-0. Twin City evened up the score with a goal just before half time. Our next two goals came in the second half from Sammie and Ali after multiple shots, securing the win for hotspurs. Everyone played their role and put in an amazing effort to make this a real team win. Go lady Spurs!
Seniors V Twin City Lost 1 – 2
The seniors played much better this week and nearly grabbed some points. Tuksar turned back the clock with a great free kick which stunned our opponents and Tuksar himself. The team was ahead 1-0 at the break but conceded two in the second half to lose a close game. The defence of Paul Kinning, Mark Belgre, Joe Suggate and Indra was excellent. Ethan Rimmer , Etahn Hurley and Eggy worked hard all day to keep Spurs in the game. No cigar but a much improved performance.
