Luders- Laramee Foundation Cup
This Sunday the Senior Men will play against Melrose FC for the Luders-Laramee Foundation Cup. The cup honours Bill Luders (first President
of Hotspurs) and Hans Laramee (founding father of Melrose FC). Both these men were integral in forming the Albury Wodonga Football (Soccer) Association in 1973.
These men started junior soccer in this region and Hotspurs and Melrose clubs are founding clubs in the local association. Bill Luders will be in attendance on Sunday and he will be thrilled to see the club he founded now has 300 playing members. Melrose won the trophy last year, hopefully our senior men can win it back on Sunday.

The Ressies had a very poor first half ending up 0-5 at the break. It was pleasing to see a huge improvement after halftime and the second half was even. Best players were Irish who led the team well. Angus Mac had a top game in defence and Will Heath also played well.
Ladies V Myrtleford Lost 0 – 3
Ladies V Diamonds Lost 2 – 8
The senior ladies got off to a slow start on Sunday finishing the first half 3-0. After half time to girls picked up the pace and worked hard to get it back. Everyone played a great game, with Imogen and Millie working hard down the line Annie was able to score the first goal and lift our spirits. Another great goal scored by Imogen after Millie’s great run down the line, past the defender, giving her the option for a beautiful pass across goals. Although we didn’t win the girls all out in a great effort. 8-2 diamonds way being the final score.
Seniors V Myrtleford Lost 0 – 4
The scoreline is misleading as the seniors battled hard to be competitive against a pretty good team. A reasonable first half had the Spurs down
by one and the second half continued to be close as the seniors looked to get back in the game. Two goals in time-on made the game seem more
one-sided than it was. Jon Cochrane and Mark Belgre were good at the back. Brendan Edwards and Milky worked hard with Matt Townsend also having a strong game. Overall the team displayed the effort that supporters want to see.
