Match reports
Under 11s v Wodonga Heart won 7 – 0
An eerie fog covered the ground but it didn’t dampen the kids’ enthusiasm. We went on the attack and got our first after three minutes. It wasn’t all one way, Heart did have some clever, fast players and created a few chances but our defence, led by Reese, was uncompromising.
Tomoki got a second-half hat-trick with all goals from his weaker non-favoured right foot. Other goal scorer were Jay, Ava, Jack and Dawson.
Soden’s award goes to Rupert.
McDonald’s award goes to Ava.
Wendy’s award goes to Reese.
Under 12s v Wodonga Heart BYE
Under 12s Girls v Melrose FC Won 2 – 0
A solid game from the Under 12 girls this week, they held majority of the possession but just could not finish in the back of the net!! With a full bench this week the girls all played well and were passing the ball around to feet. A big team effort and we will keep working and push hard in the finals, Keep the heads up girls!! Thanks again to Halle’s Dad for running the line. Awards to: Daisy, Evy and Alyssa.
Under 13s v Wodonga Heart Draw 3 – 3
A tough game that had us 1-0 up at half time thanks to a great penalty taken by Connor. Second half saw Riley and Leo also put the ball in the back of the net 3-0 up. Heart put the heat on in the last 10 minutes of the game and scored 3 quick goals which left us walking away with a draw
Under 14s v Wodonga Heart BYE
Under 14s Girls v Wodonga Heart BYE
Under 16s v Wodonga Heart Won 3 – 0
Thirds v Wodonga Heart Draw 1 – 1
Over 35s v Wodonga Heart Lost 1 – 4
Well our dreams turned to ashes as we played one of our worst games this year. There were a few good passages of play and Foxy got a good goal just on half time but we need more run and movement into space. One more game till the finals guys, lets make it a good one.
Reserve Women Gold v Wodonga Heart Won 3 – 2
A great game from the girls who played as a team and created many chances up front. Mia started the scoring off after a nice cross from Alex, but Heart were quick to score back, the girls keep playing and passing the ball around well with Mia again scoring off a corner as the ball rolled past everyone!! Our final goal was from a corner again as Mia crossed it in Fi headed the ball in the back of the net. Heart scored again after that but we held on and won 3-2 no goals were scored in the second half!! Our defenders all stood up and played well. Megan did an Awesome job in goals. A solid team effort as we began to drop like flies after Megan took a knock to the head, we hope you all recover quickly for our last round and before finals. Super effort girls. Keep it up!!
Reserve Women Black v St Pats Lost 0 – 2
Reserves v Wodonga Heart Won 4 – 3
The Ressies finally grabbed another win on Sunday. It was a good effort as the team was behind 2-3 during the second half. Durga got a hatrick and Brendan Edwards scored the other goal. Zac Francis, Angus and Ranga were good at the back while Milky played well in the forwards. Let finish the year with another win on Sunday.
Ladies v Wodonga Heart BYE
Seniors v Wodonga Heart Won 5 – 0
The seniors scored a comprehensive win on Sunday. The team did not play as well as they have in recent weeks but it is great to score five and
also have a clean sheet. Eggy scored two with Indra, Towny and Brendan Edwards getting the other goals. Best players were Eggy, Mick Corkett, Joe Suggate and Joel Mc Donough in goals.
