We encourage all grades to submit match reports to go in the newsletter. Reports need to be sent each week to wrights@dragnet.com.au before 10pm on the Monday after the game so they can be collated. The report does not have to be done by the manager or coach so you can share the responsibility between the parents and/or players. You can see past reports on the Hotspurs website.

Under 12 girls lost 2-1
Firstly my Congratulations to all the girls for making the Grand Final on Sunday, the girls have worked hard all season and this was the final step. The girls started so well with great intensity and hunger for the ball and dominated the play for 24minutes and in the final minute of the half diamonds broke fast twice and scored to go into the half 2 nil up. The girls didn’t give up but just ran out of time, and as it goes we couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net. It was still a huge achievement for the girls who have made back to back grand finals.
A huge thankyou to all the parents for their patience and support over the season special mention to Daisy an Maddi who missed out as we had 18 girls available to play, and to all the girls who made the amazing banner, it looked fantastic and the girls absolutely loved it!!
Thanks also to everyonein the club who came down and watched the game and supported the girls, we really appreciated it and finally to Caroline for the fantastic work as manager this year. Well Done HAlle who was named BOG.
Well Done girls and we hope to see you all back next year.
Under 14 Boys v Albury City lost 1-2 (golden goal)
This was a terrific cup final match. Both teams played with great determination and there was plenty of action. Bagat opened the scoring for Spurs with a headed goal in the first five minutes. The game was very even with both teams having chances to score. The defence lead by Harry, Josh, Bryce,Bella and Laura was excellent. Scott also make some top saves in goals. The midfield of Felix, Sarsha, Connor, Gerizim and the Castles were working very hard. Up front Manny, Denzil, William and Bagat were continually looking for the winning goal.
Albury City scored the equalising goal with ten minutes left and then Denzil hit the post with only seconds of the game to go.
The teams entered extra time and City scored the winner. A big Hotspurs crowd watched the game and everyone is very proud of the way this team played on Sunday. Well done to all players.
PS Leo Castles was injured during Sundays game. We are pleased to report he is OK and we look forward to him being back on the field next season.
