Match Reports
U11s v Boomers drew 1-1
Well, what a game! We battled hard and it came out 1 all.
Great job to Cody for scoring a goal, and well done to Olie and Jake for being great goal keepers.
Defence worked well together passing the ball around to the wings, who run up and passed to our forwards who all tried to score some goals.
Thanks to our coach Irish and Assistance coach Justin for helping us all become better players.
By Lily Godfrey.
U12s v Boomers lost 3-4
We started very well and looked the goods to take all three points. We used our width well in the first half and should have made more of all our good play with better choices by crossing the ball from wide instead of shooting. Having so much attacking position, we got caught on the counter a number of times by over committing all midfield and some defensive players.
We can bounce back and with three games to go before finals we can solve a few issues and then upset a few teams on our way to Cup glory!
Reserve Men v Boomers lost 2-3
The Ressies probably should have won this game. They certainly had more goal scoring chances than their opponents but Spurs players kept shooting at their goalkeeper! Milky, Joe Suggate and Alex Birrell all played well.
Senior Ladies v Boomers lost 11-1
A few players suffered injuries prior this week’s game, so we were grateful for Keely’s stellar performance in both the midfield and defence. We were relieved to have Jordan back also, whom we missed in defence last week. Weavers had another spectacular game and many of the girls pushed on despite severe sleep deprivation.
This week the second half showed a marked improvement to the first. The ladies finished the game strong, with a stellar goal by Jess within the first two minutes of the second half. It was a beautiful play by our wings and midfield that saw the ball to Jess’s feet, from where it then moved swiftly into the top of the net, out the their keeper’s reach.
Let’s keep working hard at training ladies, and push for a great game both halves next week.
Senior Men v Boomers lost 0-5
A disappointing performance from the seniors. After an even first half where an own goal was the only score Spurs played poorly after halftime. Indra and Matt Townsend were the best players for Spurs.
