Hotspurs U16 League and Cup Champions 2016
CUP FINAL DAY
Cup final day turned out to be OK weather-wise after a very wet week.
The three Hotspurs teams all played very well.
The 12 Girls were terrific in their game but went down to a much bigger and stronger team.
The 14 Girls lead early in their game only to be beaten in the end by one goal – a great effort.
The sixteens were really impressive to come from a goal down at the half to win the Cup in extra time. Their was a big crowd watching this team in what was one of the best games of the day and the boys (and girl) represented Albury Hotspurs in the best possible way. Many people from other clubs were eager to congratulate our sixteens because they are
recognized as a team who conduct themselves both on and off the field in the best possible way. Well done to all.
CHAMPIONS of CHAMPIONS
The Hotspurs sixteens will now play in the Champions of Champions competition. The C of C pits the best team from each association in NSW against each other in a knock-out competition. The Spurs will play Riverstone from the strong Blacktown league in Sydney.
The game will be next Sunday at Glen Park (Boomers ground) kick-off at 10:15am.
Riverstone like Hotspurs are undefeated in 2016 so it should be a great game. Come along and cheer the sixteens on for another week.
VOLUNTEERS – THANK YOU
As everyone would know Hotspurs in tandem with Melrose catered at the Cup Final last Sunday. Thank you to the many volunteers who assisted through out the day. There are too many to name but it was a successful day and with the money raised we will be able too buy more equipment for our fantastic players and coaches.
