Under 7s Hotspurs Hot to go
On Saturday afternoon the ” Hot to go ” boys were finally at full strength with Ryan returning from a family holiday in Hawaii. Ryan was showing no signs of jet-lag, scoring the first of many team goals in the first minute of the game against Albury City. Sam again was displaying his fearless attitude in defense and together with new recruit Zavier’s determination the opposition was finding it hard to score. This allowed the team to capitalize on any turnovers and have numerous scoring opportunities . Mitchel was using his fancy footwork skills to his advantage and with Lenny driving ‘Brabham” style the ball into attack the boys were again having a great day on the field. All the extra training sessions with ‘Abuelo’ have certainly paid off for the boys and the highlight each week is the great show of sportsmanship the boys proudly display for the Hotspurs.
Under 7s Spursies
The pressure was on straight from the start for the boys who played the Spursettes. The girls scored two very quick goals in the first half leaving the boys with a strong determination to score some goals in the second half. Thanks to Josh and Harrison who stepped up and filled in as Subs. Josh played his sister in doing this and Harrison got to play alongside his brother. Cooper played a brilliant game making some terrific shots at goal as did Dustin. Well done boys you’re coming together well.
Under 7s Spursettes
Well the Spursettes took off to a flying start this week against the boys!!!! They were on fire! With an impressive warm up regime that looked more like a military exercise, the girls were well and truly ready to take on the boys. The first half saw them tackling strong, with Emily, Isla and Elisha doing some great steals and dribbling the ball down the field. 2 awesome goals in the first half, Sienna kicking one from nearly half way and the girls definitely had the plays. I think the impressive warm ups took their toll on the girls in the second half, with them running out of a bit of steam! They battled well against the boys, with Poppy taking a couple of great body blocks and Izzy great tackling and shots at goal but the boys were bit too strong in the end. I am sure the girls are looking forward to next week’s game and the return of their team mate Alice.
Under 10s Gold
We had a great game vs the traveling Wangaratta City FC on Saturday. Our side played with a certain degree of controlled energy. We were dominant with great passing, crossing and ball recovery. Goals flowed in the first half but even though we still had most of the play in the second, the goals were thwarted by goalposts and keeper on many occasion. The deference was solid, the midfield industrious and up front we were devastating. Over all the team played very well and improves with every game. #GoSpurs

Under 12s Girls V Benalla Won 2 – 1
A great game from the super under 12 girls. The girls passed the ball around well and tried hard to hold their shape. Evy scored 2 great team goals. Our defence was super strong with Laura, Yasmine, Riley and Bella G holding them up. Sarsha and Bella Godfrey were awesome and everywhere. Steph, Charlotte and Scarlet played well and chased down the ball every time. Alesha and Laura played well in goals and shared a half each. Well Done girls!! A huge thanks to super sub coach Dee for warming the girls up and getting them into positions.
Under 13s V Benalla Won 16 – 0
Welcome to Baghat and Bryce on their debut for the 13s. A great game by all players. Lots of passing to feet and looking for each other. CJ was unlucky not to score straight up but made up for it later on scoring 2 and being instrumental in several other goals. Will, who was filling in from the under 11s, scored with his second touch of the ball. Manny scored a ripper from a Felix cross and Tim scored from a Gez cross. Bagaht took off on several occasions like Jack Brabham in a car race and was hard to catch. Well played boys.
Goals: Felix 2, CJ 2, Gerizim 2, Will 1, Baghat 1, Bryce 1, Tim 1, Manny 1, Josh 1, Marcus 1, Scott 1, Riley 1 and an own goal

Thirds V Benalla Won 5 – 2
This was a game of two halves. Spurs were terrible early in the game with very few players prepared to concentrate on what they had been ask to do.
After being behind by two goals into the second half the team began to pass to feet and move off the ball. What a difference this made and five goals followed in quick succession. A terrific goal by Felix and another by new player Bhupen were highlights. Best players were Indra jnr and Sajit both of whom played consistently well for the whole match.

Reserve Women V Benalla Won 4 – 0
A little bit of a slow start for the reserve ladies, we were passing the ball around well but just couldn’t finish. Jess played well up front again demonstrating her speed and converted a nice cross from Fi to get us on the board and go into the half one nil up. A few changes in positions and a quick pep talk saw the girls finish off strongly with a four nil win. Great goals by Snowy and Lily x2. KT played well in midfield and created many chances and our defence was strong all day. Super goal keeping by Megan and Carissa who shared a half each. Jaime did an awesome job running the line and it was great to see the senior ladies supporting and cheering us on, Thanks girls!! Keep up the great team work.
Reserves V Benalla Won 5 – 0
The Ressies played some good football and scored some nice goals. One from Chris Vidovic was a standout after good lead up work from Tyson and Irish. Santi, Vidders, Dhan and Zac Brodie played well for Spurs.
