Match reports
It was a cold wet day for the Gala day but the two under Sevens teams braved it and played two spectacular games each. It was so exciting watching them play and many goals were scored by a variety of players. This weeks stand out players were Seanna, Mitchell, Dustin, Alice and Murray. Congratulations guys for working hard and being one of the last Under 7s teams to stick it out despite the weather.

The rainy conditions didn’t hamper the start of what will be a great season for the Under 8’s. They played St Pats and Albury United and gave those teams a taster of what’s to come this season. Their keen supporters saw more quick moves and strategic switches than in a game of candy crush. Harley enjoyed his time as goalie. He’ll be one to watch this season when he’s wearing the gloves. Louis also showed some great tactical play particularly in defence and in goal. In both our games, there were some great passages of play with Daisy and Alex passing the ball with precision. Ruby was speeding all over the pitch despite the wet conditions. Nicola displayed great team spirit helping in both attack and defence. Hamish played strategically in defence and stopped the opposition in their tracks – a big help to the team.
Coach, Shaun was stoked with how his team handled the wet and cold conditions. Everyone gave their best and had a great attitude.
Good luck when the games start next weekend.
Considering the poor weather it was a great Gala Day. We managed to play 3 games in the cold and wet conditions and played them with skill and team work. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of good play, passing and trickery from our team.
The kids and their parents participated with a positive attitude which made the day a success. You should all be proud of yourselves, you did the club proud. #GoSpurs

CJ and Kye worked well together resulting in a few great goals. Zac only touched the ball once in goals for the first half (he probably had time to play a round of candy crush while he was waiting for the ball). Well done to Scott who scored his first goal. Marcus had a great run up front putting in some great crosses. Kye put in a great ball for Sami to score. Connor played a sold game filling in for Harry in the back line and scored a goal as well. Will H scored a ripper of a goal with a header from a lovely cross from Josh. Welcome back to Jaspa – we hope you are feeling better and get well soon Harry.

The team played a good game this week with the players working hard to get passes to feet and pressure the opposition when they had the ball.
The defence of Joel, Indra, John, Karl, Carl and Caleb were excellent and to get a clean sheet is pleasing. Indra, Bien and Hamish worked well up
front to set up goals. Well done team

Our first victory of the season after coming very close last week. A couple of quick goals to Jim C & Ben in the first 10 minutes left our opponents shell-shocked (& us). The team played well, were in charge most of the time and came off up 2-0 at half time. We became complacent against Heart early in the second half which resulted in them scoring. This undoubtedly woke us from our slumber and we proceeded to take back control of the game scoring twice more (1 to Jim Brodie who scored on his 50th birthday & another to Jim C who headed home from just outside the box). The majority of the time we played well structure football but we went to sleep once again to let them score in the dying minutes of the game. A well-deserved win for the veterans.

A good game by all ladies on Mothers Day. Jess started the scoring off early with a great goal after a cracking header from Kaylah. Our defence were super strong all day, held up by Beck and Megan. The midfield moved the ball around well and Kaels scored another goal just before half time. Keep up the great work girls the results are going to come if we train hard and work as a team. Thanks Bec, Dee and Eggy for running the line!!

Coach Robert was pleased with the improved performance this week. The defence was much better and both Zacs, Middi and the two Jons were very
good at the back. Santi scored two good goals, Tuksar got a trademark header and even Mickett got a header as well. Overall the ressies did well.
