11 Girls v Albury United won 12 – 0
Another great game by the girls. Once again the passing game they displayed is well above their years. Building from the back, the backline once again put some pin point passes to the wings where the wide players worked their way down the wings before getting some great crosses in. United defended great in the first half and held us 2-0. After the break the girls found their scoring mojo again and managed to finish the game with a 12-0 victory. Elisha grabbed a hatrick and took the Urban Graze burger award which she later traded for a wendys smoothy award which Tahlia won for a show of ball skills during the game (and dad wasnt happy with the trade because he wanted the burger). Eloise also played a fantastic game showing great technique on the ball and great endeavor to constantly win the ball in difficult situations and took away the Hungry Jacks Award. Mya and Bella again played brilliantly and are great role models for their teammates. Thanks to Bakers Delight and Wendys for providing all the girls awards this week as they all deserved it.
I came across this article which reminded me of why the parents do it.

U11 Boys v Boomers won 2 – 1
A terrific result on Sunday with some very tense and exciting moments during the game . The match started slow with no real intensity and some obvious nerves but our Spurs soon started playing with a desire to win .
Ryan put us on the scoreboard with a penalty shot but the Boomers straight away equalled the score with an impressive set play that we had no answer for.
After the break Ayden found the net and then for the rest of the match our defenders played so well , shutting down any chance of the Boomers levelling the score . It was a great game by Alex on debut , taking on and winning the ball against some of the Boomers stronger players .Ruby was awesome and Lewis played well in goals for the whole game .
It was a well fought win and sees us move to the top of the table .
Thanks to Brad for running the line this week .
Another tough match against Cobram coming up – Go Spurs !
13 Boys v Boomers won 4 – 0
Today we started well and kept our width spreading their defence allowing us to penetrate and score three early goals. Ava scored twice and could have had a hat trick in the first 10 minutes. The second half was a different story as we pushed forward but didn’t keep our width which bought Boomers defence in narrow and made it difficult to create clear chances. We did have a fare for attempts on goal but could only manage 1 more when Tomo slotted his second.
It was sad to see Jayke get a leg injury and was forced off the field. It was good to see Reese back and moving well, hope you continue to get better, it was great to see a smile on your face enjoying playing again.
13 Girls v Albury United lost 2 – 10
13 Girls v Mytleford won 13 – 0
A double header last weekend saw the Under 13 girls play on Saturday and Sunday!! With our team changing on both days the girls played some impressive team football!! Even thought the score line against United, the girls passed the ball well as a team. They are developing and playing together well. It was great to see many of the girls who are new to the sport and club score goals, some their very first goal ever!! Special mention to Keely who dominated the defence and to Ash who ran the wing all day long and to Ava on Sunday who slotted 7 goals from everywhere and to Lily who is as consistent as ever in goals for the team!! Keep up the fantastic team work girls, its great to see!!
16 Girls v Albury United lost 0 – 10
A tough Saturday for the girls who were short as a team only having 10 players 5 of who had just played a full 13 game before but that being said the girls never gave up and played out the game which showed real courage!! Lil was awesome in goals and their was some very nice passages of play!! The girls will keep improving the more they play together as again many of the girls are in their first season of football. Keep up the great work girls and the results will come!!
16 Girls v Albury City won 2 – 1
Wow!! What a competitive game from the Under 16 girls, the game could of gone either way but the spurs held strong and played as a team!! It was a warm afternoon at Jelbart park with the first goal coming from a beautiful cross then finish by Salli!! The girls went into the half with a 1 nil lead. Our defenders were awesome lead by Yasmin and Grace. Ava then scored a beautiful goal to go 2 nil up, Albury city scored back shortly after but the girls held. Lily w
Reserve Men v Boomers won 2 – 1
The Ressies showed what they can do with a good showing on Sunday. The team fought hard for the full ninety minutes. Milky scored two really good goals and was well supported by Arjun and Chandra. Mahji, Sam, Doug, Ray and Towny (welcome back) were great in the defence. Highlight of the game was Dinesh’s airswing which resulted in him lying on his back!
Senior Men v Boomers drew 1 – 1
The was a really good game to watch. It was very close and both teams had opportunities to win. Jerome scored a great goal with a classic shot. Lewis and Luke Dahl were standouts in the middle of the park and Tony and Ranga played great games in defence. It is encouraging for all the supporters to see the seniors improve each week.
