POSITION VACANT – PRESIDENT
Unfortunately our club President, Jason Smith has had to resign his position on the committee due to family and work commitments.
We hope to fill this position which will be voted on at our next committee meeting and we encourage our members to attend.
It is quite possible this role may be filled by one of our current committee members which will create another vacant position.
We are always open to new people to join our committee and if you would like to be apart of building the future of the club please come to the meeting.

Match Reports
11 Boys v Melrose won 5 – 1
Great to see the boys are starting to put together some good passages of 1-2-3 first time passes. They have been working on it at training and it is paying off.
Solid work in defense from Charlie, Sam and Dustin. Superb link up through the middle from Lenny, Carl and Coops giving Aydan plenty of opportunity up front. crafty crosses in front Aydan and Coops resulted in a brilliant headed goal to Lenny.
The testing material this week against Cobram, especially without our star keeper Ethan.
Goals: Lenny, Coops, Carl, Isaiah. (1xOG)
12 Boys v Melrose won 4 – 1
Back on the winners list this week with Captain Ashleigh jagging the first two goals with plenty of speed down the wing.
The 4-4-2 is working well with the midfield playing both defensive and attacking roles.
Another test this week playing the top of the table away in Cobram. But if they stick to their positions we should put in a solid performance.
Goals to Ash x2, Lenny and Ben
14 Boys v Melrose won 5 – 1
It was great to have the whole team back playing together. We took on the premiers from last season and it was great to defeat them 5 – 1. The team played well, stepped up and did what I asked. There’s still a lot of room to improve as a team and individually but all and all I couldn’t be happier.
See you all at training to prepare to take on Cobram Roar.
Cheers, Craig.
Thanks to all that were able to help as duty team on setup, pack-up and on the BBQ, great job team.
And we had a great turnout at Brady’s Railway Hotel Sunday night for dinner and awards.
11 Girls v Melrose won 4 – 0
It was another great performance by the girls again against an improving Melrose line-up.
The girls were asked to play in different positions than their preferred positions, but it didn’t stop the team from delivering another dominant performance.
Alice grabbed the first goal, which was soon followed by another goal from Elisha. Ava was again a rock in goal in the first half before being unleashed on the field for the second half.
Zali played up front in the first half and terrorised the left side of the field creating plenty of chances and was unlucky not to grab a goal for herself. Zali went to keeper for the second half and kept another clean sheet for the team. For her effort Zali is grabbing a free burger award thanks to Urban Graze. Elisha snagged another goal before Isla finally bagged her long awaited first goal for the U11 girls team with a great finish from some great lead up work by the team.
Imi, Alice and Rylee all had strong games but overall everyone played really well.
13 Girls v United won 8 – 0
With only 11 players the girls passed the ball well and played out the game as a team.
A huge thank you to Elisha and Ava who played up from 11s. Lil lead the girls well
and showed great communication skills from the goals to help the girls.
Ash started our goals with a cracking strike of the ball. Daisy held the midfield together and assisted
well. Alex, Bella, Sophie and Ava were awesome in defence. ruby and Ash were lightning quick on the
wings and created many chances on goal. Mya was un luncky not to score and played great in goals second half.
An awesome team effort. Awards to Lil and Tahlia for her hat trick.
16 Girls v Melrose won 4 – 2
We started with only 10 players and was great to see Hayley run onto the field to help us get to 11!!
The girls started well and held possession and created many scoring chances but just couldn’t find the back of the net.
Melrose scored the first goal and then shortly after Ava equalised. Our defenders held the back line well, Bella ran hard in the midfield
and didn’t stop. We went into the half 2 to 1 up. We kept pushing and Laura scored a beautiful goal off a corner. We never gave up and finished
the game. A great team effort, well done girls!!
16 Boys v Melrose won 6 – 2
With the return of Toby, Jack B and Louise we had a full bench and with lots of options and plenty of subs the Hotspurs boys were on fire and dominated play, Kristian, Leo and Habba all looking dangerous and scoring goals, this set up a 5-0 half time score. In the 2nd half the intensity dropped off and the opposition scored 2 goals to our one, an overall result of 6-2. A good win by the boys. Go Spurs!
Thirds v Melrose won 3 – 2
It was a bit of a strange game on Sunday with a great deal of scoring action within the first seven minutes. First it was Spurs through Bautista, then the opposition replied almost immediately, then they scored again. Bautista was gifted another scoring opportunity towards the end of the first half and made no mistake. The score was then fixed on 2-2 for almost the rest of the match. Spurs had a number of accurate shots at goal, all of which were foiled, and Will at the other end was made to work hard at times. It was a seesawing game and it was only with a few minutes to go that the Spurs hard work paid off and Ben kicked the decisive goal. There was great relief from the Spurs bench. It was terrific to have Ben back in the team. Thanks to Irish for filling in at short notice, to Connor for stepping up from the Sixteens, and to Jacob S for running the lines.
Over 35s v Melrose won 5 – 1
The old boys love playing on the main field and now have 2 wins in row playing there. It was textbook football in the first half with the side playing their new 3-4-3 formation. Plenty of chances were created and it didn’t take long for the team to get ahead.
Damo grabbed the first goal after some great leadup work by Tuksar, before Melrose banged in an own goal (even though Damo tried to claim it – he was only 10 metres away). With a coaching masterstroke from Butsy, Wildinho was relocated from the backline to striker and with a run from Wildinho that was so precise it would have done surgeon proud the way he cut open the defence, and a ball from Irish that was pinpoint accurate, Wildinho calmly slotted the 3rd goal to take the team to the break 3 up.
After the break in which Butsy finally had no negative feedback for us, Melrose came out firing and substitute keeper Harro dropped his lollies which allowed the enemy to get one back. But once again Wildinho was injected into the front line and with some magical footwork, and a hand of god moment, beat 4 defenders, drew the keeper before putting the ball on a platter for Damo to snag his second goal of the day. Wildinho was immediately put on ice for the remainder of the game by the coach, but that just freed up Brodes who put the finishing touch on the game with a cracking finish that gave the keeper no chance. Mick, Loz and Bonners all had great games in the backline keeping the dangerous Melrose striker in check all game, but this game will be remembered as the day Wildinho finally was given and opportunity to cause havoc up front and helped Larry celebrate his birthday with a football masterclass.
