Meet your Hotspurs Committee
President – Bradleigh Howard
Started at Hotspurs in the early 80’s as a junior and returned to the club with his kids 6 years ago.
Has been coaching junior teams from Miniroos to U/11s and 12s
Is a firm believer in ‘many hands make light work’, with great people each doing their bit to make the club a success.
First year as President after many years seeing Ian Belgre work tirelessly in the position he feels it was the perfect time to step up.
Has a great passion for the club and wants to see the great success of the junior boys and girls reflected in senior Spurs teams in the future.
Female Liaison Officer – Carolyn Gillard *NEW POSITION
I have been involved with the Hotspurs soccer club for nine years, as a taxi driver and cheer leader to my daughter Laura and son Jonathon. Both my children look forward to Sundays with a sense of passion and enjoyment.
The reason I became the Female Liaison Officer was due to my concern for the decline in the number of female players at Hotspurs and AWFA. This decline has resulted in clubs not being able to field teams and support female players at various levels of competition in the local draw. The opportunity to play the game of football that my daughter loves is now facing the possibility of disappearing.
During the next season I will endeavour to meet all the female players, from the youngsters in mini roos to the ladies in senior teams. I will listen to their needs and help create an equal playing field by taking their voices to the committee and raising concerns they may have. I will seek to promote female participation in the sport of soccer and strive to develop the depth of players in the club.
I want the game to remain an enjoyable and fun sport with pathways available locally and at a representative level for all players.
Secretary – Justin Wild
Been involved in the club Since 1984, played juniors and seniors. Has coached numerous teams over the years and is still coaching and playing. Taking on his first committee role for the 2019 Season. Goal for the year is to ensure communication between the committee, our members and the AWFA committee is efficient and open while taking care of the background administration of our club.
Vice President – Ian Belgre
Has been involved in the club for as long as anyone can remember and served as president at Hotspurs for over 25 years. Has coached teams of all ages up to the Senior team over the years. As always, Ian’s goal for the year is to do whatever is best for the club and assist committee members in making their roles a success.

Treasurer – Gary Kavanagh
I only took up soccer at 35 years of age and have been playing for Spurs since in the Over 35s and bit parts in ressies. One of 4 Irish imports in the 35s squad, and possibly the most technically gifted. This is my first year as part of the committee and I am really looking forward to the season ahead.
Member Protection Information Officer – Diahann Maher
( MPIO ) Is there to help the club deal with complaints in an appropriate and consistent manner.
A MPIO can listen to complaints and is responsible for providing information about a persons rights, responsibilities and the options available to the person making a complaint, particularly around harassment, discrimination and child protection issues.
A MPIO does not investigate complaints.
Junior Registrar and Media Officer – Kelvin Davies
Have been managing the club’s online presence (newsletter, Facebook, website and Team App) for many years and Junior Registrar for four years now. Have coached a Hotspurs team the past 9 years.
Played more than 400 Senior Men games for Spurs followed by a few years in Reserves and continue to play over 35s as a “well over” over 35s player.
You may not know that I was a Melrose junior to U16s then joined Border SC which played in Melbourne fourth division and then moved to Spurs after the collapse of Border SC. Played junior reps and also National Youth League as an older aged player for AWFA.
Looking forward to continue my role at this great club of ours.
