Where: Spurs Stadium. Aloysius Park. South Albury.

All registered Miniroos players will receive medals and free sausage sizzle.

Over 35s

It was great to be back home on a decent football field where we could actually string a few passes together. The team was a bit thin with some key player injuries and a few suspensions. To add to this, it was the club’s Sponsor Day, and five of our players, who are also sponsors, participated in the event which included food and beverages. One of these players was suspended (which seems like it might have been planned), and another player-sponsor decided beers on The Hill were a better option than playing. The other three—Coach Kel, Captain Mickett, and Bonners—thought they’d give both a go!

Cobram, to their credit, made it a difficult and physical match, even though they had a number of players who had doubled up either in Div. 3 or Div. 2 prior to our O35s game.

The Milk Man was back to his best on the better surface, banging in another 4 goals to add to his impressive season tally so far. Sponsor and Captain Mickett also scored from a free kick he hit low and hard into the top corner! Cobram scored two great goals themselves, but the Spurs were too good and were comfortable winners 5-2 on the day.

Bonners was awarded the Grill’d Player of the Day for his efforts both in the sponsors’ marquee and on the field.

We played well for the majority of the contest & were unlucky with Laurie hitting the woodwork twice with some cracking shots from outside the box.
Things could have been a little different had we mounted this pressure.
