Can you believe season 24 is almost over. Please join us for Hotspurs North East Bin Hire Miniroos end of season presentation.

Date: Saturday 24th August 2024

Times:
5s to 8s at 10.30am till 12pm
9s to 11s at 12.30pm

Where: Spurs Stadium. Aloysius Park. South Albury.

All registered Miniroos players will receive medals and free sausage sizzle.

Junior Presentation 2024

14th September, 11-2pm at the Commercial Club Albury.
Kids will receive food and drinks.
We’ll be honoring outstanding individuals with club awards and team awards for all Junior divisions, all 12s Girls and 14 Girls, all 12 Boys, 13, 14 and 16 Boys teams and our All Abilities team.

Senior Presentation Saturday 21 September

Join us for the Albury Hotspurs Senior Presentation Dinner, an event commemorating the accomplishments of the season. We’ll be honoring outstanding individuals with club awards and team awards for Divisions 1 & 2 Women, Divisions 1, 2, & 3 Men, and the Over 35s team. Dress to impress in cocktail or semi-formal attire and enjoy a delightful 2-course meal. Please note that individuals under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Let’s show our spirit and rally with #GoSpurs!

Over 35s

On a glorious Sunday at Glen Park, we faced the Boomers, who have proven all year to have one of the strongest defenses in the comp. We started shakily, and the Boomers appeared to have taken an early lead; however, the ref’s whistle had already blown.

Floody made an excellent challenge to win the ball at the back and then quickly passed it to Doug in the right midfield, who burst forward before placing a perfect pass for Milky to run onto and finish superbly into the side netting.

In the second half, we received a penalty, and Milky got his and our second goal. However, the Boomers weren’t done yet, sending some pace up front that caused us no end of problems. They got one back before also earning a penalty of their own to level the score.

It was end-to-end football for the last 10 minutes, but it was the Boomers who came up with the winner, scoring a peach of a shot into the top corner, giving Lee in goals no chance.

We have one more game next weekend against St. Pats before heading into the finals series.

Over 45s Men

Over 45s V St Pats Lost 2-4
A catch-up game on Wednesday evening. An even 1st half when we went to the change room 1 nil down. Bend it like Coatesy produced a remarkable shot from outside the box to get us back in the game early after the break. Unfortunately, we then let a couple of soft goals in towards the end. A consolation goal came our way when Brodes took the ball inside the box to beat the keeper.

Over 45s V St Pats Lost 1-4
Back to our usual Saturday game but a feeling of Deja vu came over us as we prepared to play St Pats again in the space of 3 days.
We struck quickly with Foxy putting us in front early on. We were able to contain them for most of the 1st half before they grabbed an equaliser & then slotted another one in. The second half was an arm wrestle with them putting another 2 on us. Once again we played reasonable well but some silly mistakes cost us the game.
