Match Reports
Div.1 Men
The team made the trip north to take on St Pats at Alexandra Park on Sunday. Unfortunately Manny was ruled out on Saturday and we slotted Dawson in for his first run with the Div 1 team this year and Jon Cochrane also started his first Sunday league match. Dawso repaid the faith by opening the scoring in the 5th minute, Cody then popped up in a corner and slotted his first goal of the year in the 11th minute, it was a great moment as mum went crazy on the sideline. Unfortunately for St Pats they had a man sent off and this really didn’t help their cause. Heathy scored a penalty and Scrieb’s scored the last one before the half time whistle. At half time we spoke about shutting them down a little quicker and making better decisions for the team. Jack McGiffen was finally rewarded for his efforts in the first minute after half time and then Dawso popped up again for his second goal. We continued to dominate with Leo coming off the bench and scoring and then Zac Forham finished the afternoon off to make it 8-0. The pleasing aspect is that we had multiple goal scorers and were able to keep our defensive focus and not concede, we were also able to give the bench a run at some game time as well. We would like to thank St Pats for putting out teams in Div 1,2 and 3 with their injury / suspension tally. Our focus now shifts to playing Myrtleford and trying to change the result from when we played them in the FA Cup round. See you at Spurs Stadium on Sunday!

Over 35s Men
We went into this match with nine players unavailable but still managed to have 3 subs until the second half when Butsy went off injured leaving us with two. Even with many strong players out we played a very good passing game and dominated large parts of the second half. We conceded 2 goals in the first half which were extremely unlucky as both goals fell kindly to St Pats from blocking challengers. Chasing the game in the second half we created some very good chances but couldn’t find a goal until Kel put in a quality corner kick for Logan to score his first goal for Spurs with a nice side foot finish.
Hopefully we can get our first win next week if we continue to play balls to feet and move as a team in transition.
17 Girls
Diamonds certainly came out to play on Saturday, but our girls once again came home with the win.
Ro scored our only goal for the match, but there were many other attempts from many players.
1-0.
We started first half very slow but came back in second half much stronger and all girls played well.
Keep up the great work ladies!
