Presidents Report
Sunday was again a ripper day down at Spurs. Although we had quite a few postponed game due to a Rep Carnival in Bendigo, there were still bumper crowds at Aloysius.
It sure is unseasonably hot for the start of the season, and games are becoming a battle of attrition.
We are home again on Sunday, and it forecast to be another cracker, bring the sunscreen.
50 year anniversary
We are currently looking forward to our 50 year celebrations in 2023.
To make these celebrations the best they can be, we are asking for volunteers to offer their time to help organise our major social event and also all the other parts of the celebration.
If you have been around the club for weeks, months or years, we would love to hear from you with your ideas. info@alburyhotspurs.com.au

Div.2 Men v United Lost 0-5
With a heap of experience coming back into the team with Jon Coch, Townie and Eggy, we had a dominant first half.
We couldn’t quite put all our dominance with the ball translated into goals and was 0-0 at the half.
With all the experience also came a few younger players who are still working on their fitness base and who had also played 3rds in the game prior. Our lack of attrition and fresh legs really showed in the second half, the score didn’t reflect how close a game it was but we know the results can be reversed next time we take them on.

Over 35s v United Lost 0-2
It was a game of two halves, both were 35 minutes long with a 10 minute break between. It was nil all at the beginning and only 1 goal was scored in each half. Unfortunately it was United who scored both times.

17 Girls
U17 Girls played United with a convincing display for our first game of the season. At half time the only comments were around more talking and movement off the ball which was improved throughout the second half. Final result was Hotspurs 17 – United 0. Scorers: Roisin 6, Charlotte 5, Rylee 3, Keely 1, Mya 1and Alice 1. Thanks to Shanaya and Rylee for being goal keepers on the day. Also, shout out to Maddie who put it all on the line including her nose. Well done girls.

Missing a couple of our top age players at a rep carnival, our 16 boys did a fine job.
Wildy gave us a 20 minute burst before changing grounds to play Ladies. We wont mention the tap in she missed just prior.
Pat Mason was again on fire bagging 5 before the coach dragged him to save his legs before 3rds and Ressies.
Across the board the players are really improving and are getting fitter and smarter with their team work.
Cooper and Alonso were pivotal with their passing and Kohans leadership was excellent in the middle of the park with both he and Cooper opening their scoring accounts as a reward for effort.
We welcomed new comer Xavier Wall, who had spent the last few years playing Rugby league but his improvement was evident in every minute he played.
A highlight of the game came in the second half, showing his empathy to the opposition, Dustin asked the Spurs coach to sub off one of the United players who was evidently injured.
Big game this week, Cobram will be tough, but no doubt we can get the dub.
Goals: Patrick Mason x 5, Cooper and Kohan 1 each
