Albury Hotspurs members and committee have this evening made a decision to continue training for those that remain registered.
As a club we will endeavour to review the options over time to play some friendly rounds in the future but, at this stage, do not promise this will occur.
With the ever changing Covid19 environment we will continue to review our decision on a regular basis.
Our continuation of training revolves around complete cooperation of members to follow the FNSW return to training guidelines as we have been doing in the past. https://footballnsw.com.au/

Registration Open

New and returning players, coaches and managers can register and pay fees online for the new season with Albury Hotspurs via PLAY FOOTBALL.

If you registered in 2019 you will be in the PLAY FOOTBALL system and you can click SIGN IN to start your registration. Payment can be made online at the time of registration or via direct debit.

Anyone who has not previously registered in playfootball (2018 or before) will need to create a new account.
If you use the same email as you did with the old MyFootballClub “MFC” you should get an option to “claim” the information from the old MFC.

A parent can also create their own personal account and or link other family members accounts.
Once accounts are linked/claimed, you will be able to register all family members without have to log-out like the old MFC system.

NSW Active Kids $100 voucher

Commencing 31 January 2018 the NSW Government will provide a $100 voucher to parents/guardians of school enrolled children. The $100 voucher can be used for registration and participation costs for sport and fitness activities.

Every child (4.5 – 18 years’ old) enrolled in school from Kindergarten to Year 12 is eligible. This includes those who are home-schooled or enrolled in secondary school education at TAFE NSW.

It will not be means tested and one voucher will be available for every child in the family annually over the next four years.

There will be no limits on the number of applications per family, as long as every child is enrolled in school.

2019 Round 18 Reports and Club News

Presidents Report

What a cracking day it was on Sunday. The sun was out for most of the day and Aloysius and Lambert Parks were in fine nick, and there were plenty of supporters around watching some great football.
I know the 12 Boys were particularly happy about playing on the main field for the first time, they put on a superb show in front of the Hotspurs Hill. All games will be played on the main pitch at Aloysius when we have our last home game against Boomers in a fortnight. We want to make it a real carnival atmosphere before the pitch is resurfaced for next year and beyond.

This week is the last round of Miniroos at Jelbart before the end of season Gala Day at Willow Park. We are running the BBQ and duty and require many hands on deck to help set up and pack up.
Reminder to also bring your chocolate money in and give it to either Olivia Howard or Narelle Tuksar.
This Sunday we are playing away at Heart.
Let’s make it a great round for Hotspurs, so get along and offer your support.

Div.1 Men v Myrtleford lost 1 – 3

It was a bold effort from our boys against one of the leagues strongest teams. For 75 mins we frustrated them. Blunting their attacks and even creating a few chances of our own. It only took a moment from their star player to break the deadlock. The last 10 mins goals flowed, Jon Cochrane getting our goal from a corner. The team continue to play above themselves and look to have a strong last month of the season.


Div.2 Men v Myrtleford lost 0 – 1

It is hard as a coach to sit on the sidelines and watch a team work so hard and not get any points for their efforts, yet again. Unfortunately for us they capitalised one of their very limited chances and we just missed out a couple of times up their end. Anyone who was watching the game would have been amazed that we are sitting second last and they are equal top, that is how well the team is playing. Thank you to everyone for their efforts in the game and also to those who helped out with the duty jobs.

16 Boys v Myrtleford won 5 – 1

Reviving hotspurs disappointing loss from last round, hotspurs improved there game by the 5-1 win. Harrison made some great saves only to concede to a direct free kick. There was some outlying moments, Harry played with a hamstring injury and being nailed by the ball in the nuts. Reese covered Clarke’s ass for his bad defence and Kristian scored two missing the third because Cody nabbed it.?
Clarkey played one of the best games he could as striker for 5 minutes and proved his valuable spot in the team in defence by not letting the team go down 3-5.
Rupert said he will enjoy his burger and so will I.

14 Girls v Myrtleford won 5 – 1

A great game from the girls who created many scoring chances. Our defence were awesome lead by Lil, Alex and Elisha. The girls passed the ball around well,  the other teams are closing us down more. We have one more game left next week before we go into three byes in a row, we must keep focused and play hard if we are to see the grand final. A really solid team effort Awards to Elsiha(House of trends) and Georgia(Muffin break) who saved a cracker!! A huge thank you to Rylee  and the regular Under 12s who play every week. Keep working girls and lets finish next week strong!! 

 

13 Boys v Myrtleford lost 0 – 2

Yet again the score was not reflective of the game we played. We did the most attacking in the first half and deserved to be on the board with Alonso just going wide on a couple of occasions. Cooper was limping from the 12s so Alex took up position as our defensive half doing a ripper job. Ethan was again superb in the goals keeping us in it.
Attrition was probably to blame for this result, with Dustin and Daisy coming off with groin injuries and Alonso and Cooper struggling with their overuse injuries it made it difficult to get our shape and structure. The week off has come at a good time of the year, hopefully we can recover some of that great teamwork form a couple of weeks ago.

12 Boys v Myrtleford won 4 – 1

We finally got to play on the main pitch giving us a little more room and the buzz from the crowd on the Hotspurs Hill.
Cooper opened our account early from a corner kick, somehow bending it reverse aka Roberto Carlos.
Will went for yet another brilliant run in the box and as it seems the only way they can stop him is cutting him down from behind. Cooper slotted the penalty and another volley and we were 3-0 up early. With our first full team of the year we rotated a few players into unfamiliar positions. Defensively we held up strong in both halves and both sides of the midfield were able to push wide to add to our attacking efforts. Well done to Elisha Wild for a brilliant solo effort to finish the game with a goal.
A big test against Heart this week should see where we end up in the finals.

12 Girls v Myrtleford won 9 – 1

A dominant display from the girls with great efforts all across the park. The Spurs passed the ball around well and dominated possession in both attack and defence.
It took some time for the first goal to come, which was an impressive individual effort from Elisha midway through the first half. From the on, the goals flowed quickly with Zali scoring three (enjoying her opportunity in attack), Rylee two (one of which was a well-rehearsed goal from training – off a corner), Elisha scoring another crack after a run from midfield, and fantastic goals to Alice and Poppy (Poppy’s from outside the box).
Well done Spurs, a great win.
Big thanks to Lucinda and Ava for being in goals.

11 Boys v Albury City won 5 – 1
The team started a bit flat today but to their credit, they can still come up with 5 goals against a well structured opposition.
One area that was switched on was the backs, they are like a brick wall at the moment, which will hold us in good stead for the tough games coming up at Myrtleford.
Zavier really showed he can play the role of forward when he puts his mind to it, sticks to the last line and digs in for the second and third efforts to win the ball.
This week’s leadership award goes to Cooper, and he will Captain the team against Myrtleford on Sunday.

12 Boys vAlbury City drew 0 – 0
We were missing a little pace today and probably dominated the play but just couldn’t quite get the right ball going forward.
Again the defence was staunched, Sam and Tyreece really kept it all together, with Tyreece edging forward a couple of times which surprises us all.
Awards go to Sam for his dominant back role, and Ethan, for another superb game in goals.

13 Girls v Albury City won 11 – 0
With a few girls away and injured we called on some mighty Under 11 girls to help the team out!!
Alice and Eloise were awesome and played beautifully with the team. Tahlia was on fire up front slotting away some very nice goals. Alex held the defence line well with Sophie. Keely pushed the ball around nicely and shared the goals with the team. The girls are playing some beautiful football together. Awards to Sophie, Eloise, Aice and Daisy. Thanks to Clint for running the line.

16 Girls v Albury City won 2 – 1
This was a great battle to watch the girls were unlucky to concede a goal in the last minute of the half but the girls fought back in the second half and created many scoring chances. These girls never gave up and played out the game with great spirit.
Ava scored an absolute cracker of a goal to put us ahead and all the girls played as a team. A fantastic group of girls who listen and leave nothing on the field.

Thirds v Albury City won 3 – 0
After the almost traditional slow start the Thirds came away with a good win on Sunday. Against a team with many big players we lucky not to be down a goal at halftime but went to the break tied at nil all. In the second half we came out firing and Ray, playing forward, scored a terrific goal, his first for the season. Then after a great passage of play through the midfield Jacob S sneaked in front of the opposition defence and put the ball into the net. To cap it off Manny’s free kick from outside the box sailed straight through the defenders and we had our third. There were other opportunities, including a couple that hit the bar, but a 3-0 win was all we needed. And it kept Joel happy – he just wanted to go into the bye next week with a run of seven games without a loss. It was a great team effort with everyone contributing. Best of luck to Bonners who reinjured his knee. Thanks to Leo who ran the lines.

Over 35s v Albury City won 8 – 0
Was it only a few games ago that our master coach Butsinho announced,
“today we play 3-4-3”?

Today, our final match technically of the first half of the season, captivated the spectators lucky enough to witness it, and see our coaches genius plan come to fruition. It was a stunning masterclass of passing, movement and working as a team. Was it Spurs over 35s or was this a team from Brazil warming up for the World Cup?

Devoid of some of our regular stars, this was the chance to start the fabled pair of Platini and Wildinho up front. It didn’t take long to have the crowd shaking their heads in disbelief at the poetry of the interplay and understanding between them. Garinho danced down the left and crossed to the front post. The keeper confused by the stunning pace and movement of Platini’s diagonal run, thrust his stomach into Platini’s (slightly raised) left foot and fell to the turf. The ball ricocheted into the goal off Wildinho’s foot. The ref of the year rightly awarded the goal to Platini, perhaps as much for his deft medical attention to the keeper as for him actually touching the ball.

Spurs toyed with the opposition and went into the break 2-0 up. The only blight on the performance was the waste of some brilliantly created chances due to somewhat inefficient finishing. In the second half Spurs went up a notch and put City to the sword, raking up another 6 goals with a commanding display. The ball at times was sent surging and ricocheting across the turf like a ball in a pinball machine. There were some delightful passages of play. One touch passes were made to players moving into space. Early crosses sent our rampant forward line surging towards the City goal on countless occasions.

It was hard to single out anyone. Roberto Santos Tuksar (who was benched once he scored his hatrick in quick succession) and Kelvin Ramires dominated the centre of the park. The Irish twins Garinho and Aido Silva were tireless at right and left back (well tireless until they needed some bench time). Mick César and our Italian stallions Laurie Junior and Marcelo Bonnettio were commanding at the back. Foxio Gomes, Daminho Luis and Andrew “Falcao” Waugh worked tirelessly in the shadows of our superstar strikers Wildinho and Platini. Our stand-in gloveman Edu so worried City they didn’t manage to force him to make a save. There will be some selection headaches for the coach, who now has a rich vein of talent to choose from. Well done to all for the gentlemanly behaviour whilst our opposition in disarray and stretched across the park lost their cool at times.

Technically this puts us within 3 points of moving into the top four. There is still room for improvement, with many chances created for the 8 goals scored. We won’t be able to be so wasteful against the “better” oppositions (if they currently exist in the context of today’s performance), and if we want to take our rightful place higher up the table.

Once the host broadcaster releases the match footage for our coach to review, we are sure that he will be pleased with our evolution as a team. Keep up the effort lads, it was a pleasure to play today.
